Potato Peel Pie

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society- Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
Book Recommendation

January 1946: writer Juliet Ashton receives a letter from a stranger, a founding member of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. And so begins a remarkable tale of the island of Guernsey during the German occupation, and of a society as extraordinary as its name.

I loved this heartwarming book enough to add it to my extremely choosy book list. I enjoy lots of books but only list the ones that really stay with me. I'm always on the lookout for a recommendation so if you've read something that just has to be read let me know!

I'll take a look at it, once I'm done with my list. Might I suggest, A Private Hotel for Gentle Ladies. Very interesting.

We just read this book last month for book club. So uplifting and beautiful. You start to really love and know the characters a little more with each letter exchanged. And I appreciated how much books meant in each of their lives.

This book didn't do it for me, I think because the writer appeared to be so strongly influenced by "84 Charing Cross Road", that to me it ran the risk of being a case of plagarism. If you get a chance to find 84 Charing Cross Road it is most definitely worth a read!
